COVID-19
Regretfully Club Walks are suspended until further notice

We wish everyone good health and hope the world returns to normal quickly

A very warm welcome to our walking group:
Stockport Walkers

(established 1909)

New members are made very welcome so please have a look at our website.

We are a friendly and sociable walking group with members from all walks of life.

We enjoy walking and exploring the beauty of our local countryside in a wide variety of areas:
Greater Manchester
Derbyshire
Peak District
Cheshire
Staffordshire
Lancashire
Yorkshire
Stockport
Wales

Our programme provides walks on three days a week throughout the year for a wide range of abilities.   We hike all year round and members have the choice of walking on three days of the week, at four different levels of ability. Walks and hikes vary from 4 to 10 miles in length with shorter, seasonal strolls for those who don't want to walk as far. Walks for all abilities take place every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. For full details about our walks click here

We have social events and holidays.   Throughout the year we hold a variety of social activities plus a spring and autumn holiday. For full details about our social events and holidays click here

We have a large and actively involved membership.   A large majority of our 200 members participate in one or more of our 5 or 6 weekly walks. Members mainly live in the South Manchester and Stockport areas with some coming from as far as Sheffield and Warrington.

  • The object of Stockport Walkers is to encourage the love of nature and the countryside through walking together and to foster a spirit of sociability and comradeship
